5 REASONS TO GET TATTOOED WHILE TRAVELLING

Getting tattooed during a trip is always easier, here are 5 good reasons or 5 good excuses…

Who are the most tattooed in the world?  The answer is in this article.

But it tickles a bit though!

Indeed, being tattooed is rather cool! Besides, 10% of French people have a drawing on their indelible skin.

Nobody will force you to mark out your skin for life but you must admit that it has already crossed out your mind.

Shall I do it or not? Here a long questioning which prevents you from doing it year after year.

Till the day where…?  I’ve travelled, and understood that being tattooed in 2016 doesn’t make you a marginal after all that.

Do you know who are the most tattooed in the world? (Answer at the bottom)

HERE ARE THE 5 REASONS TO GET TATTOOED ON A TRIP/WHILE TRAVELLING

FASHION

Don’t do it to be like everybody! However when travelling in South East Asia (Thailand, Bali mainly), in Australia or in the US (Miami, LA, NYC) we realize that everybody is tattooed. Firstly we are curious then we question them. Some of them get tattooed as often as they change clothes, others take time, in these countries they don’t ask themselves question:  » How is it going to be seen ?  »

It’s become normal practice! In Manhattan when going into Apple department store, ¾ of the employees seems to be tattooed. Today being tattooed is nearly a clothing detail and not any more to show off in a different or marginal way. It’s the cool attitude, the friendly way.

To look cool is good providing the tattoo has a meaning.

A SYMBOL AND A SOUVENIR

A trip is magic, unique and makes us happy. Some destinations touch us more than some others.

Combining the symbol  of our life, a friendly drawing  in the memory of a beautiful trip is really the top!

A friend’s tattoo (below) represents love and  family; it was drawn  during a honey moon trip To Bora Bora (see all its meaning at the bottom of the page)

Of course, ideally is to think about tattoo before leaving.

RELAX ON HOLIDAY

On holiday, on a journey or around trip, we are relax, that the least we can say. We don’t ask ourselves all sort of useless questions. It’s true that during a trip, the excitement can lead you easily to get tattooed. At home we dare doing it, we keep putting off and then sometimes we are afraid of family circle reactions. Going into a youth hostel and finding out  we are the oly ones ot being tattooed, makes you think and takes a decision straight away! The lack of concern is OK as long as you don’t do silly things.

TO EXPRESS YOURSELF, TO BE FREE

In addition to the tattoo symbol, to express oneself is also a good reason. Taking advantage of a trip to say « shit », I’m actually doing what I do with my body as long as I don’t damage it. A tattoo doesn’t change anybody (unless  being turned into a real master piece) however it is a real mean of expression.

When one of your relative gets tattooed, we are rarely surprised by his choice but we can also learn a lot about the person and a part of his life. And the story,  the memory of that drawing will always be interesting and  might envolve in due time.

Above, a tattoo made in Bali in 2012 during a round trip; this tattooed man from Kuta draws with a demographer  and  some American ink.

LESS EXPENSIVE TOO

Getting tattooed in Asia costs three times less than in France. I paid 40 Euros in Bali compared to 150 Euros in France. The result was the same and he used a good quality American ink (Be cautious with  » Indian Ink « )

Of course, Don’t choose any tattooed person. You can find all the best addresses on internet. If you wish to be tattooed in Bali, I’ll give you an address.

AND WE WON’T REGRET

FROM NOW ON WE HAVE MORE CHOICE…

Meaning of the tattoo above: the waves for the trip, the tortoise sign for prosperity and fertility, a hibiscus flower, the man and love sign then the shark’s teeth for the strength!

Meaning of the second tattoo: this whole tattoo represents the profile of a Manta ray. In detail : the eye for the kindness then the tortoise for fertility, prosperity. Then the wave from Teahupoo from inside out :

The waves mean journey, the family sign and the brother and sister then the woman and love sign; besides, the bird’s sign and at the bottom, the shark’s teeth for strength and power. And on the left appears the warrior’s spear (lozenges) for courage.

Answer: 33% of Swedish people are tattooed! We can see those fair big guys as the perfect son-in-law image; well, they are the ones who ink their skin the most.
